Aspire Youth Employment Program details
Ages 17-29
Eligibility requirements:
- Canadian citizen, permanent resident or protected person
- Living in BC
- Not enrolled full time in high school or post-secondary training
- Unemployed or precariously employed
- Seeking employment
Locations: Creston, Cranbrook, Fernie, Invermere
The Aspire program is delivered entirely online including the application process, workshops and job search assistance.
Required to participate in the workshops are:
- reliable internet,
- a computing device with a webcam,
- microphone and speakers.
Support with these technical requirements are available as needed. Please let us know if you are unable to meet the computing requirements listed above.
4 Week Employment Workshops
Attendance: full-time 9:00-3:30 Monday to Friday
Pay: $300 weekly allowance based on attendance $30 per half day, less applicable tax.
Topics: Identifying skills and strengths, Labour Market Information, Networking, Guest Speakers, Computer software training, Resumes & cover letters, Employer Panels, Workplace Feedback, Interview Skills, Clothing, Interviews, Point of Sale, Digital Marketing, Coping and Conflict Management Skills, Career Development, Food Service Skills, Budgeting & Time Management and more!
Certificates: Foodsafe, Serving It Right, WHMIS, Super Host or alternatives
