Participants will spend a combination of in person, virtual (if needed), facilitator led workshops and peer employment placements working and helping the community. Participants will have the option to access personal counselling group sessions. The programs focus on various topics including personality assessments, Indigenous culture, addictions, violence and abuse, employment skills, time management, networking, transferrable skills and resume and cover letter writing.
This program offers a participant allowance based on attendance. Morning and afternoon sessions run for 3 hours each and are paid at $30 per session. Partial attendance is not prorated and the weekly maximum is $300 ($60 day x 5 days).
In order to be able to receive Services under the LINK Program, an Eligible Participant must also be:
a). At Risk of Homelessness, or experiencing Homelessness; and
b). Unattached to the Labour Market or Unemployed; and
c). Facing one of more of the following barriers to employment:
i. Facing, or recovering from addiction(s) or substance abuse,
ii. Street entrenched,
iii. Prior criminal justice involvement,
iv. Mental health challenges,
v. Lack of social networks and connections,
vi. Low self-esteem and/or low confidence,
vii. Low income, or
viii. Facing stigma associated with any of the above barriers.
