Minimum 5 years in chef, sous chef, or executive chef position. Red seal journeyman cook considered an asset but not required. Experience supervising or working with individuals who may have limited skills. Position requires lots of patience and adaptability to help learners succeed, preferably someone with teaching experience, could be formal, volunteer or work related teaching. A professional instructors diploma an asset but not required. Familiarity with all aspects of a commercial kitchen operation, working knowledge of all equipment, and preventative maintenance.
Delivery of a 4 week Kitchen Assistant program. Classes to run from February 24 - March 20, Monday - Friday, 8:30 am - 4:30 pm. Duties include organizing and delivering daily lessons based on curriculum provided, instructing students on all aspects of work in a classroom and commercial kitchen setting.
