Current OFA Level 3 First Aid Certification
One year experience as a First Aid Attendant
Must be physically fit and able to pass a fitness test;
S100 – Basic Wildland Fire Suppression certification;
S185 – Fire Entrapment Avoidance and Safety certification;
S100, S185 and WHMIS training will be provided to those who do not already have the certification. Course dates are under review and you will be contacted once dates are determined.
Workers are First Aid Attendants at Forest Fires, or camps. Duties also include some paperwork, use of radios, etc., but not firefighting.
Work can be anywhere in BC as required, but our office is in Cranbrook.
We are preparing for the 2020 summer fire season.
Workers are On Call, As Needed, When Needed Only.
12 hour work day seen as typical once deployed. Each deployment can last up to 14 days. There may be multiple deployments throughout the summer dependent on the Wildfires
Regular Pay - $21/hr – 1st 8 hrs
Time & ½ - $31.50/hr – for next 2 hrs
Double time - $42/hr – all additional hrs
