Current Class 5 BC Driver’s license;
Clean Driver’s Abstract and experience driving on gravel roads;
Must be physically fit and able to pass a fitness test;
Current OFA Level 1 & Transportation Endorsement First Aid Certifications;
S100 – Basic Wildland Fire Suppression certification;
S185 – Fire Entrapment Avoidance and Safety certification;
S100, S185 and WHMIS training will be provided to those who do not already have the certification. Course dates are under review and you will be contacted once dates are determined.
Working as Driver of a First Aid Vehicle at Forest Fires or camps.
Other duties include paperwork, use of radio, assisting First Aid Attendants, etc. but not firefighting.
Work can be anywhere in BC as required, but our office is in Cranbrook.
We are preparing for the 2020 summer fire season.
Workers are On Call, As Needed, When Needed Only.
12 hour work day is seen as typical. Each deployment can last up to 14 days. There may be multiple deployments, dependent on the Wildfires.
Regular Pay - $19/hr – 1st 8 hrs
Time & ½ - $28.50/hr– for next 2 hrs
Double time - $38/hr - all additional hrs
