Requirements The ideal Candidate will be able to demonstrate a passion for working with youth and an in depth understanding of youth issues and possess:
· A diploma in Human Services or Social Services field and 2 years of experience working with youth will be an asset

· Standard First Aid, Food Safe, Mental Health First Aid for youth an asset

· Understanding of working with a not for profit organization

· Will be outgoing, energetic and collaborative with other youth based organizations

· Have a basic understanding of accounting and budgeting

· Excellent time management skills and independent working

Duties Located in Invermere, BC for over 25 years the Summit Youth Centre Hub offers an after school drop in centre for youth 12 -18 years. Our mission is to inspire and connect youth to programs and opportunities throughout the Upper Columbia Valley. We have recently received an award from the Principals and Vice Principals of British Columbia for our dedication to supporting youth through workshops on youth mental health. While in school workshops have been postponed due to Covid 19 restrictions we anticipate resumption when possible. In addition we have had an app developed to provide inspiration and connection to youth. Check us out on either android or apple Summit Youth Centre Hub. With the onset of Covid 19 we have served the community of youth and children with weekly delivery of snack boxes to families in need of food support. Online we encourage youth to join in on microsoft team guitar lessons, yoga streaming and weekly cooking lessons. During the school year we offered homework assistance, and weekly group chats.

Job description

Full Time Centre Manager

Creating programs for youth 12 – 18 years in a variety of settings

Manage all aspects of the drop in centre including staff, administration, promotion and fundraising.

37.5 hours/week: must be available evenings and some weekends

Potential Start Date August 1, 2020

Drop in Centre may not open until safe to do so with Covid 19 protocols but outdoor activities will be encouraged as permitted.
