Training and Experience
? A minimum of a post-secondary diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration
or other related area, or an equivalent combination of education, training and
? Three to five years of experience in human resources preferably as a HR generalist.
? Experience with recruitment and working with Prevue or other applicant tracking systems
? Certified Human Resources Professional (CPHR) designation is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
? Working knowledge of recruitment and selection tools and solid understanding of the full
cycle of the recruitment process.
? Working knowledge of the Employment Standards Act and WorkSafe BC.
? Excellent listening and coaching skills, and the ability to interact with others sensitively,
ethically and honestly.
? Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks while ensuring accuracy and meeting
? Ability to exercise initiative & bring sound judgement to making decisions and problemsolving.
? Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
? Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships across all levels of an
organization, and work collaboratively with others.
? Strong communication and presentation skills.
? Strong computer skills to produce spreadsheets, reports, documents and presentations
(particularly Excel, Word, Power-point and Visio).
? Strong research, writing, administrative and organizational skills.
? Demonstrated commitment to customer service.
? Demonstrated strategic thinking and business acumen to support delivery of services,
solutions and results.
? Ability to provide current, knowledgeable and credible information.

The Human Resources Advisor provides human resource (HR) advisory support to the Trust
that includes: recruitment, orientation, onboarding, exit processes, job evaluation, disability
claims management, performance management, employee recognition, training and
development, health and safety, policy administration, employee documentation and records
management. The Human Resources Advisor additionally assists with HR projects and
initiatives and the continuous improvement of HR practices, processes, and programs. This
position reports to the Manager, Human Resources.
