Horticulture degree • Three years of progressive experience in a related field • In-depth knowledge of plant growth, vegetable production practices, crop inputs, and marketplace conditions • Solid understanding of horticultural techniques • Ability to prioritize and manage conflicting demands • Ability to work individually as well as part of a team • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing • Demonstrated time management skills • High flexibility with strong interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse environment • High level of integrity |
| Duties |
• Prepare soil; plant bulbs, seeds, and cuttings; graft and bud plants; and transplant seedlings and rooted cuttings • Prepare seedlings in greenhouses by planting and prepping them for outdoor transplanting and planting • Maintain plants by planting, transplanting, cultivating, irrigating, and pruning • Ensure the health and viability of the product • Review bloom development and soil conditions to determine nutrient and moisture requirements, and to detect and identify germ and pest infestations • Detect, report, and control all plant health and pest problems • Apply herbicides & fungicides. |
