Individuals will be working as Forest Firefighters.
Work can be anywhere in BC/AB as required, but our office is in Cranbrook.
We are preparing for the 2021 summer firefighting season and need individuals in place once the need arises.
Workers are On Call, As Needed, When Needed Only. A 12 hour work day is seen as typical once deployed. Each deployment can last up to 14 days at a time. There may be multiple deployments throughout the summer dependent on the Wildfires.
Start Pay - $19/hour – 1st 8 hours
Time & ½ - $28.50/hour – for next 2 hours
Double time - $38/hour – all additional hours
Must be physically fit and able to pass a fitness test (3.22 km walk with 25 lbs. pack in less than 30 mins.);
S100–Basic Wildland Fire Suppression certificate;
S185–Fire Entrapment Avoidance certificate;
ICS 100–Incident Command System
WHMIS-Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System
TDG–Transportation of Dangerous Goods
S100, S185, WHMIS, TDG and ICS training provided to those who do not have the certification. Course dates are under review and you will be contacted once dates are determined.
Note: Class 5 Driver’s license, OFA Level 1 & TE certification an asset, but not required.
