Requirements A post-secondary certificate, degree or diploma in a related field (career or employment development, vocational rehabilitation, social work, psychology, sociology, human services, counselling, education or human resources management)

Very strong attention to details, superb administration skills, excellent communication skills, highly organized and typing speed of at least 40wpm.

Duties Persons in this position work with job-seeking clients, other KES staff, external service providers and the employer community to develop clients’ ability to be effective in the labour market and establish or strengthen their connection to it.

Develop action plans collaboratively with clients and support them in their implementation
Assist clients to become job ready by providing coaching in employment related areas such as: work skills, job search skills, resume preparation, interview skills, and life skills
Determine financial need and arrange program financial supports
Negotiate and develop intervention agreements (training, self-employment, wage subsidy, etc.)
Effectively deliver all WorkBC services including those for specialized client groups
Refer clients to external agencies as needed and track these connections as appropriate
Monitor attendance and progress in program activities and interventions
Obtain client releases as necessary
Manage client information in accordance with established standards
Adhere to security procedures to ensure the safety of clients and staff
Support clients with disabilities to apply for employment opportunities, and work with employers to identify suitable job tasks and supports required on the jobsite
Deliver workshops in a flexible manner that adjusts both content and approach in response to the needs of participants
Follow-up on any outstanding inquiries generated during workshops.
