Have an Early Childhood Certificate or equivalent experience working with children ages 0-6.
Have experience facilitating groups with an educational focus.
Possess strong interpersonal skills.
Love working with families and young children.
Be a self-starter and a team player.
Demonstrate knowledge of positive parenting skills.
Provide a current criminal record check.
Have a valid Driver’s license, adequate insurance, and reliable vehicle. Be willing to travel to Fernie, Sparwood and Elkford for program.
The position is 20-22 hours per week. It follows the school calendar and closes for 2 weeks over Christmas, 2 weeks over Spring break, and for July and August.
Develop and co-facilitate a family centered, early childhood development and education program in the 3 communities of the Elk Valley.
Facilitate programming that encourages healthy development of children from birth to age six and increase positive parenting skills.
Collect and maintain concise records as required.
Liaise with appropriate professionals and/or caregivers concerning families and community
Assist families in accessing information or other resources in the community as needed.
Maintain client confidentiality.
Participate in 3 annual regional site coordinator meetings
