This is a clinical counselling position which provides specialized assessment and treatment services to children and youth (and their families) under the age of 19 who have been sexually abused.
Relevant Bachelor’s degree required, relevant Master’s degree preferred (ie Social Work, Psychology, Child and Youth Care, Counselling Psychology. Registration with a regulatory body preferred. Criminal Record Check required. Must have vehicle and valid driver license.
This position is 20 hours per week. Work days are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. There is flexibility in hours worked on those days. The position is based out of Fernie.
Building a safe and supportive environment for clients, developing client service plans, providing therapeutic and psycho-educational services to children/youth and their families, work in collaboration with clients to monitor and evaluate service plan, provide crisis intervention services when necessary, work collaboratively with clients to develop safety plans, maintain appropriate clinical, client and administrative records, interfacing with other service providers and professionals (Child and Youth Mental Health, Child Protection, Alcohol and Drug Services, physicians etc.) required. Opportunities to run risk reduction groups.
Orientation and ongoing training will be provided. Clinical supervision will be provided on a monthly basis. Benefits include access to an Employee Assistance Program and a Health Spending Account.
